Amid reports that the City of Atlanta has decided to halt the issuing of permits for large-scale, outdoor events, the Atlanta Pride Committee has confirmed that the Atlanta Pride festival and parade are still expected to be held in October. The APC is continuing with planning for their 50 th anniversary parade and festival, which is still set to be held October , but they have not yet been able to secure necessary permits because of the pandemic. We continue the work to plan for our 50th anniversary. As a part of our planning, we remain in frequent contact with numerous government offices and officials to receive the latest updates.

White gay prides enforce, both consciously and unconsciously, the long history of ignoring the people of color who share in the experiences. While the mainstream gay pride movement , often perceived as overwhelmingly white,  has focused  much of its energy on same-sex marriage , the Black Gay Pride movement has focused on issues such as racism , homophobia , and lack of proper health and mental care in black communities. The largest of these events have historically been D. Black Pride and Atlanta Black Pride. Black Pride, which began in , has been cited as one of the earliest celebrations. Black Pride celebration started out of a tradition called the Children's Hour 15 years prior. Though the organization began as a way to support the network of Black Gay Pride celebrations worldwide, CBE now also focuses on social justice issues as well.

Atlanta Black Pride has come and gone at least until next year , but the messages that were emphasized will hopefully continue to have a positive impact on attendees. One movement is hoping that social media and other Pride festivals will help to empower and educate gay men who are living with HIV. Moore said he remembers growing up and being told that HIV was a death sentence, but says his parents have been more than supportive after finding out about his diagnoses. In addition to talking about HIV with family members, on dates and during seminars on his college campus, Moore has been traveling around the country to give speeches and participate in educational programs. Moore said he hopes the "Positively Fearless" movement will be prominent at future Black Pride festivals throughout the country and that through using the PositivelyFearless hashtag and HIVWisdom Twitter handle, they can keep the conversation going.
